Club Meeting Report and Notes

Winchester Wheelmen Meeting Minutes for August 13, 2019 held at Brewbakers Winchester, VA

Treasurer’s report: savings $1,442.98 checking $1,998.12 cash on hand $158.00 Total = $3,559.10

Ken confirmed the Kid’s Club will not be happening, not for a lack of interest on the Wheelmen side, but because their organization could not get behind it. Perhaps the club can help them another way. Something to be discussed at a later date.

In old business Ken wanted to reiterate again the fact that club members need to ride in a safe manner and obey all VA traffic laws. He would like members to feel comfortable policing fellow members when infractions are observed. Ken cited an unfortunate incident on the Saturday morning shop ride where club members were observed by a sheriff passing other cyclists over the double yellow. Please members observe good ride etiquette.

Chuck Rumsey will be leading a Pittsburgh to Cumberland GAP ride on 10/12.

Big thank you to Robert and Ed who lead the Orkney Spring ride. Everyone enjoyed it.

Robert stated it was never too early to start working on annual banquet details. He will report back.

The Sunday Sundae ride took place on Sunday, August 25th. We had 60 people attend the event and enjoyed Ed serving up ice cream to everyone. It was so good to see so many members and their families out for a wonderful afternoon. Linda and Chuck brought her world-famous brownies, which, as always, were delicious. Thanks for everyone’s help.

PLEASE CHECK THE RIDE SCHEDULE BELOW AS TIMES AND EVENTS HAVE CHANGED DUE TO THE SHORTER DAYS AND FALL APPROACHING.
